How Divorce Affects Men
Men tend to have a very different approach to divorce than women do, therefore planning for their futures is going to involve a different set of “rules” to follow during the process of divorce.
Men can be angry and so can women, but anger coming from a man is taken in a different context than anger coming from a women. It may not be fair, but the reality of it is, that men need to walk a finer line with their anger in a divorce than women do.
Don’t fall prey to intentional antagonism from your wife. She may be trying to upset you on purpose in order to use it against you in court. Take a deep breath, control your temper and go hit a round of golf balls or hammer a couple of nails in your garage to cool down.
I have also noticed in my practice that men tend to be the first ones to give up materialistic assets. They walk away from the house with nothing but their clothes, because they don’t want to deal with the little details. Well, those little materialistic assets add up.
